    Underbody protection brackets

    Hi all.
One of the underbody protection bolt recesses has broken off my car.
    Looks like a reeled.
Do you think I could ask for it to be a warranty job?
    They are fairly flimsy

Fairly common problem. They are a bit light duty and if they don't break then an over zealous apprentice can usually strip the threads using a rattle gun.

Weld it back on or look at replacing them using heavy gauge channel and M10 bolts and nuts.

Contact Simon Crowe at Custom Offroad Accessories. Apart from aftermarket bash plates he also makes H/D mounts to be welded on. I think they are $10 each + postage.

Or make your own if you can.

They are made from 40mm x 5mm angle. I went to a local steel supply company and get a small piece out of their scrap bin. As there is 6, I made 4 @ 40mm x 40mm and 2 @ 40mm 30mm with a captive nut welded to them. The 2 smaller ones are right at the front and the other 4 are behind them. The last 2 holes used are in a chassis tube.

Pretty simple to make and I did my own but a local exhaust shop will likely weld them on for you for a small fee.
