    Silent indicator signal

I was always warned that certain activities would make me deaf and it seems they were right. I can hardly hear any sound from the indicator relay. Do they make louder ones or can you fit a small piezo alarm? I'm probably annoying the bejesus out of other drivers.
    Thanks in advance, John

I am rather deaf as well, and there is a turn on the way home which does not automatically cancel the left indicator. I was worried that someone would drive out in front of me, assuming I was going to turn left into their street. So I fitted 2 cheapie piezo buzzers inside the cabin. They were so loud that I had t wrap them in insulating tape. I took the feed for the buzzers from the front left and right turn bulbs. This was a pain because I had to run wires back into the cabin, but it was easier than finding the wires at the indicator lever inside.

the dealer played around with this noise using their computer that hooks up with the car. The buzzer is on a board so you can't replace it. Whatever the dealer did works, and it's much louder now.

I too cant hear my turn indicators , can anyone tell me where to find the wiring for right and left indicators on side wall wiring block , I will fit a piezo buzzer to each direction , sounds like a lot of trouble to run wires from the appropriate lights , any help would be appreciated

Just to clarify what Cooperplace said - the car has in in-built option for soft or loud indicator sound (soft is the default) - you can get the dealer to change the setting to loud (but I don't think you can do this yourself). If you get the dealer to service the car it may not cost anything - if not you can always ask.

When I fitted the piezos to my NW, it was new and so was I to this car, and I didn't want to do anything radical, so I tapped into the front blinker light wiring behind the light fitting and ran the wires back to the wiring loom behind the battery. I undid the metal clamp on the firewall and that loosened the loom enough for me to poke some wires through to the cabin. I then placed the piezos loosely on top of the gearbox and wrapped them in insulating tape. I had to earth the piezos as well, and finding an earth in there was a bit difficult, but eventually I found one somewhere - cannot remember where. They are LOUD - so much so that I had to wrap more tape around them to deaden them a bit. Really expensive job - I recall that the piezos cost me $4.95 each (full retail price). I am sure that there is a location closer to the drivers seat than what I used, but that is how I did mine then.

For what it is worth, the right signal wiring is Green with Red tracer and the left wiring is Green with yellow tracer. It would probably be easier to take the feed for the piezos from the side indicators rather than the front ones like I did.

I was told that the dealers replaced their MUT tools about 5 years ago or more. I am having trouble finding anywhere in SE QLD that will get back to me to let me know whether they can still do it. Ipswich cannot.

Is the sound genertaor a clicking relay or a speaker/buzzer? If it is a relay, maybe it is in a can orenclosure that can be modified to let more sound out?
Anyone seen it, or are able to post a pciture of the circuit board?
                  Thanks
