WHich timing belt for NM 3.5l DOHC

Hi there everyone, I just bought an NM Pajero with the 3.5l DOHC.
Im looking to replace the timing belt and purchased a kit but think i purchased the wrong timig belt. Does anyone know if the 3.5l DOHC need a belt with 201 teeth or do i have the wrong belt entirely? Thanks

The 3.5 NMs that Mitsubishi sold in Australia are single cam - there are some double cams here as direct imports, so someone might know the answer for you.
    2010 MY 2011 VR-X V6. Stock standard.

Previously 02 NM auto V6 Exceed silver. Extra transmission cooler & transmission temp gauge, activated rear lights, Impco sequential LPG system, Redback (Wildcat) Headers, heavy duty radiator. Lovells shocks F & R, Polyair bags in rear.

My original Pajero experience - '90 NG Superwagon, 3.0 V6 manual bought new and kept until 1998. Great vehicle, no problems apart from the noisy valve lifters typical of that engine.

Have a look at www.rockauto.com and go through the menu until you come to Mitsubishi Montero. Look down through their listings and see f they have a DOHC 3.5 listed. If they do, go into that and find the timing belt. They will probably tell you the number of teeth.

My 2003 6G74 SOHC has 201 teeth (Genuine part No MD358549)

The Gates site shows number of teeth for each, e.g. this is the x-ref for mine:

Okay thanks guys. I’m in Canada and my pajero is from Japan. I assume the 201 teeth belt for SOHC is too small but who knows. I’ve done some research and I’m thinking a 265 teeth belt may be the one I need so I may order one and see how it goes. Thanks
