    Mickey Thompson All Terrain 38

Has anyone got a set of these tyres and what are your thoughts? For 265/60R18, the price was $300 per tyre which I didnt think was ourlandish.
    Cheers

These are only a passenger construction tyre with a load index of 110 but have a mild AT tread pattern. For around the same price you can get the same size and load rating in a Pirelli ATR, and for about $30 less a tyre you can get a Hankook ATM RF10 or a Nitto G2 Grappler passenger construction 114 load index extra load tyre with an AT tread pattern.

All the above tyres are best suited for on road and light off road work when not towing or carrying heavy loads.

Thanks for that info O.J. I wont be towing much and hardly ever go offroad so I really only need a passenger tyre. The Goodyears from new have been ok in the dry but wet conditions are where they fail miserably. My brother had said about Mickeys but he had them on his Landcruiser which he said served him well for over 100,000km. Im hoping they are as good on a Pajero.

I know several people that used to run the ATZ 5 rib in light truck construction and loved them, good on and off road, and great life.

Well I have got them fitted last weekend. They also done the wheel alignment for me. Great bunch of blokes to do business with. Hoping to get 70000km out of them as they are a little chunky. I will keep an update on how they are performing later.

I have had these on my pajero for 63000ks theywere a fantastic tyres quiet, good in wet, great grip,I only travel on highway and tow a van often. But for the last 15000ks they have gotten very noisy (as tread worn down) usually at about 50k-80kph still tread left so am waiting to wear them out maybe then look at perelli's.

Well ive done my first 5000km with these tyres and Im happy with them. Perfomed brilliantly in the wet when I broke hard and no aquaplane. Tyres are noisey at 50 - 80k/hr. I expected them to be noisey simpley with the big gap between the knobs. Fuel economy has increased slightly (0.4lt/100), again I expected it.
Overall at this time I would give them a 8/10.

I've been browsing Mickey Thompson wheels and tyres too. I saw some reviews mentioning the noise it makes. Guess that's true?

I had the deegan38's in a MT and got 700000kms out of them.... I found they got noisier as they got older but not excessive and I also found they were hard to get balanced..... I had a lot of shake at the end in the steering..... However I also found they were very tough - I put a very severe dent in my sunnies and barely got a mark on the outer casing. I have seen tires that would have been destroyed with the hit these took. - in the end however mine were old stock when I bought them and when they got to 4 years old they started to show delamination on the side walls so I replaced them....
