    Continental tyres

Hi all not a pajero related tyre question but wondering if anyone has used Continental tyres on their other vehicle.

The wifes Golf gti is up for new tyres very soon and I've been reading some good reports on the contisportcontact5. Anyone got any thoughts?

    Cheers in advance.

Yep, run a couple of sets now. No complaints. On our MX5 I went the contact sport, gave good grip but you would get less life. Now on the wifes car we have run flats (can't remember their name/model). Would happily go Contis again.

A mate of mine runs them on his 700hp Falcon and rates them highly. I haven't used them personally. I run Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my GT which are amazing.

              Quick update.

Decided to go with a set of Pirelli Dragon Sport 225/40/18. Although I initially was looking at the Continentals i got a great deal on the Pirellis through Bob Jane......$780 fitted with wheel alignment due to cash back offer etc. They get pretty good reviews on line.

First impressions are good......quiet and plenty of grip. Time will tell on longevity.

Again thanks for the replies on my initial post.

I had Contis on a car I had in the UK some time back. They came with the car and were about 30% worn. I found they were not too good in the wet and the front end tended to slide when cornering. To be fair tyre technology has moved on a lot since the mid '80's but I probably wouldn't choose them again if I lived somewhere it tended to rain a lot.

                  Conti UHP

I was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee earlier this year with OEM Kumho's. I absolutely hated the car until I put on Conti UHP tyres. If I didn't experience it myself, I wouldn't have believed how much they transformed the car.
They are highway terrain and are not cheap. I've given back the car, but if I had do it again, I'd put them on in any on road car in the blink of an eye.
