    LED light bar.

So I wired up my supacentre light bar. I also got me a AOB switch to go with it. All wired up i then realised the light bulb plugs don't match up. After some searching found that a piggyback can be bought from stedi. But then I hooked it straight up to my switch. So I can turn them on when needed. Is that allowed? Because I heard they had to be hooked up to the high beams.

By Law, Spots and Light bars must be hooked to the Hi Beam so when you dip to low beam the Spots / Light bar turn off.

They must also be wired through a switch so you can have the High Beam on without the spots / light bar.

    Hope this helps.

Check with your local authorities as I recall reading here that some states don't require separate switching now.

Victoria have done away with separate switching.

Its a dumb rule anyway, Who ever turns it off at the switch, but rules were made for a reason.... Revenue.

I selected H11 and they kicked out H8/H9 or something like that. Bit it will fit my bulb.

Sorry H8/H11 and it automatically selected H9.

Received the piggyback yesterday. Took me about 10 min and I am legal now. Works with high beams and can be turned off by switch.

                      Ok I'll bite. I do.
Its nice to have options on how much light is needed.
Is high beam enough? eg driving the suburbs. Yes. Usually
am I off road and want spread ? the light bar goes on
freeway driving but don't want glare off the street signs ? driving lights it is

Just saying ALL lights are not always needed so adding a switch is worth the effort in my book.

For future buyers, don't bother with the highbeam adaptor and harnes. Just use an add-a-circuit fuse tap and use one of the highbeam fuses as the highbeam trigger and make your own quality harness. You won't run into problems with the adaptor letting in moisture, water or dust.

I am the same. Sometimes I turn my lightbars off when the highway signs and guideposts have too much glare.. As you say...nice to have the option.

Just a quick question to those who have used an add-a-fuse to the high beam fuse in the engine bay fuse box. Where, or how, did you route the wiring out of the fuse box?
