    How many cross bars?

I'm looking at fitting an aluminium platform to my NT. It'll be temporary, I'll only have it fitted when going away as I need to still be able to fit in my garage. I'm looking at a platform that is 1600mm long. How many cross bars do I need? Will two be enough? It's only going to be used for swag and camp chairs and possibly fit an awning to it

    Thanks.

Two will be more than enough for that kind of weight.

Agreed. I have a 1580mm long tray on 2 Rhino HD bars. That survived the CSR and that should be the ultimate test. For an 1800 or 2000+ tray, I would look into 3 bars myself.

The roof is curved so can only fit two if going to at half flat bottomed cage or rack.

          Roof rack bars

I have three of the heavy duty Rhino cross bars on my roof rack. You can get a leveller spacer to make all three bars flat/ the same level. Works well.
