Yup - purchased the raised heavy duty Lovell's and Bilsteins from them years back. Did not fit myself, had it all installed for about $200 (back in 2011). Never regretted the purchase and they prompt to deal with. Bought all four bash plates from Bushskinz as well.

Is that the sort of info you were after?
    Regards

This is a great write up on a full suspension change on a Gen 3, Gen 4's are the same. Unfortunately the photos can not be seen due to the Photobucket issue

I'm also looking to fit this myself to my NW. I fitted the Lovell/Bilstein combo to my NP Pajero some years ago, but I don't think they did the pre-assembled kit then. The pre-assembled kit will make it a fairly easy job compared to last time (on that occasion I had get a local mechanic to split my old struts and remove parts to install to the new ones). I expect to be able to remove the old struts, springs and shocks and fit the new ones in a day. Last time I also installed airbags in the rear and this added several hours. I think the extra $200 for the pre-assembled kit is worth it.

Fitting one a couple of months back. Took me about 3 hr but that was mainly due to airbags. I would say it's an easy job smith basic mechanical skills so long as you have preassembles struts.

Mate I fitted med rear and hd front should have gone the hd rear as I have a bit of weight ( draws fridge etc) Placed air bags in also. Just got back from the Cape and they were really good don't listen to the ones saying they will melt on corrugations if any have guessing those just flogged the hell out of them. Didn't fit them myself though but mine did come from BushSkinz.

Lost NQ, could you please indicate how much weight you have on the front. I'm still weighing up (pardon the pun) whether to go MD or HD up front but I'm fairly lightly loaded.

This thread is of high interest to me. I'd also like to try my hand at installing the Bushskinz kit but I am concerned about the time it may take and then still having to getting all the alignments done. Perhaps it might be better to find an installer that can do the alignments as well.

Not wanting to highjack the thread completely, could people recommend places in Brisbane and Adelaide to get all the work done.

                  Cheers

                    Hi Zepps,

Heath at Web Suspension on Main North East Rd in Adelaide does a lot of Pajero work.
If you have jack stands, trolley jack, tools and the skill to do it yourself, and have a day to spare then it is possible using pre-assembled front struts. BUT if any of the wheel alignment bolts are frozen then the job starts escalating quickly. I have helped with 2x NW the one with 40,000kms on the clock was easy (rear coils only) and we had no problems once we worked out the technique. However the second had 70,000kms on the clock and had seized suspension bushes that needed to be cut out then replaced with new adjusting bolts and bushes. We did not have access to a press and removal/insertion tools so it was a BIG job.

I believe the Bilstein/King combination is better as the Kings spring are progressive rate in the rear so you end up with a more comfortable empty ride due to a softer initial spring rate and firmer spring rate when the car is loaded.

I heard that Heath was also a Bushskinz reseller now so if so that is a one stop shop, this is better if you have any problem down the track.

This is a very rewarding exercise to do, the rear's are very easy, a jack and stands are all you need, took me and a mate (with a hoist mind you) under an hour to do both rear shocks and springs.

Fronts are a little more involved but still really straight forward, we removed the upper control arms and were able to just slide the whole assembly out from the top. Just remember to tighten all bolts when the car is on the ground (I left mine sitting for an hour so it all settled where it would normally be) or you will stress the rubber bushes which leads to premature failure.

                      Cheers,

                      Marc

Thanks mate. I have a smart bar, sump and intercooler guards (and perhaps eventually dual battery), so I reckon medium duty is adequate.

I purchased HD springs for mine, up front is a steel winch bar (no winch - yet), bushskinz sump and intercooler guard, and dual batteries and i find them a bit too harsh for daily driving, they compress moderately well but 'spring back' with a clunk somewhat violently. I initially put it down to bash-plates, removed and still the same, then thought maybe bushes but having replaced every single one on the front end to no avail. i'm pretty sure now that its the springs.

Rear however (unloaded most of the time) is good!

                            Cheers,

Thanks Marc. I seem to recall from years ago an opinion that diesel Pajeros needed slightly stronger springs than petrol. Perhaps your front ride would improve with a winch.
