    Moaning streering wheel

Have tried finding the post where a number of you mentioned how to grease the steering column going thru the firewall to stop that annoying groan.

How do I gain access to the rubber grommet from inside the car so I can grease?

You should be able to see where the column passes through the firewall under the dash. Can't remember but at most you may have to remove a single panel just above the driver's legs but I don't think I did. Just push the rubber bush a little further and lube the shaft with lanolin. I also lubed from the engine bay side in similar fashion.

        Thanks

Thanks Seigfried. I placed a post on the other link. But thanks again here as well. Photos and fix were very helpful. I had tried up closer to the steering wheel area but it's definitely a referred moaning sound from the firewall area

After 4 weeks of creaking steering wheel I was asked/ordered to fix it. Two minutes later no creak. Sprayed lanolin through the 'straw' that comes with the can where the steering shaft goes through the firewall inside and a liberal dose on the engine bay side.

          Didn't remove anything just sprayed.
