    Dobinsons suspension.

Looking for advise on another suspension question for a 2016 Pajero.

I have received an excellent quote for a Dobinsons suspension upgrade with airbags from Dobinsons in Dandenong.

Has anyone had experience with there springs and shocks?

Also if you get a 40mm lift how high does it make the Pajero with standard wheels and Rhino roof rack on?

Concerned on clearance at City carparks.

I was interested if you are able to still use undercover parking with a 2 metre clearance or wether you need to go to 2.1metre clearance car parks.

Standard vehicle height is 190cm, then add 2 inch lift(5cm), thats 195cm, add a larger diameter tyre than OEM(2cm), so 197cm, I would go under anyting less than 2.1m to be sure if you include lift and tyres, 2m if lift only.
2011 30th Anniversary NT, TME Tuned, 2 inch Billies/Dobs lift HD rear/MD front. I have Dobinsons springs with a 40-50mm lift in my NP and the roof rack I have is the Rhino platform – ie. no sides on it. It comes in at about 1.97mt and I have no trouble getting into car parks that have a 2.0mt. clearance – I just take it steady.

Incidentally, it’s no use measuring your vehicle now and adding 40mm. because there is the possibility that your existing springs have sagged and when you install the new ones you’ll go up by more than 40mm. Mine went up close to 90mm. when I did the lift as it had the original springs that had done well over 200,000km.

                  Cheers

                  Geoff

I shopped around for suspension recently for the 2015 NX and narrowed it down to

Old Man Emu for $1,850 including bushes and top hats 4 wheel alignment etc. No airbags

Dobinsons with airbags $2k even or $1,550 without airbags

                        Bilsteins & Dobinsons $1,950

Only OME recommended to replace top hats and bushes as we've done around 85,000km already and more expensive to do later.

Also ARB OME said needed 4 wheel alignment and Dobinson said only front required

Having the OME fitted next week, see how it goes

Be interested to hear feedback on the Dobinson set up.

After the initial teething problem, I'm loving my dobo's springs and MRR shocks. The latest trip (back in April) where I proved their worth in a quite remote location is here:

April 2 to April 17 Well, how's that for uncanny. I chalk up my 50th blog post with a trip report on how I marked my 50th birthday. At t...

A location where you can ill afford to have suspension issues.

And what can I say about their customer service compared to some others.....They were they only ones who looked after me without a shit fight.

I would link in my dobo entry, however, due to the photobucket issue affecting users globally, I haven't got as far as fixing that post yet, so its almost worthless without pics.

The hose connections on the remote reservoirs have been upgraded by Dobinson, so the teething problems are all sorted, so won't be a problem for anyone else.
