There is a few ways you can go about it.... On my Paj I have my solar panel wires running through a hole in the top of the passenger door frame (only because the hole was already there when I bought the vehicle, otherwise not my preferred option.

I have rear lights that the wiring runs out the rear through a grommet behind the tailgate and is sikaflexed up besides the rubber seal and comes out between the gap of the door.

On the front I plan to run a wire up inside or next to my snorkel for a forward rack lightbar if I ever get to fitting one...

Sikaflex and P clamps are you friends for such a job.

Good luck.. I'm sure there are other creative ways to tackle this job also but this has worked for me.

On my Pajero, I got power to my roof to run LED lights on my awnings by tapping the power off the rear door interior light (This has constant 12v, allowing the light to come on with the ignition off).

I ran the wire through the head lining, and up through a hole I drilled in the roof with a step drill. Hole placed near my roofrack leg and next to the rhino rail, so its out of the way. I used a rubber grommet from Jaycar in the hole to prevent damage to the cable. Siliconed the hole to prevent any leakage.

I used LED light strips form ebay (maybe $7 for 3 meters), which stick inside the awning rail, and cheap $3 lamp switch from jaycar on the active wire to turn on and off. Switch is mounted inside the awning as well.

I managed to squeeze 8 gauge cable between the windscreen and the actual A-Pillar, then once on the roof you just run through the roof rack channel - most discreet way i could find without drilling holes, etc.

        Cheers,

        Marc
