    NH Pajero Questions

    Morning All,
Have just joined the forum and this is my first post.
Don't live anywhere near most of you guys but joined as I think the exchange of information from people that know far more than I will be an invaluable tool in helping me get this vehicle back on the road.. I have just inherited a 1992 NH 3 litre V6 GLX Pajero.
Its my first Pajero and there are a few things I want to know but am not sure of.
They probably will seem like stupid questions but I have searched the internet before bothering you guys and have been unable to find the answers I need.
This car has spent a lot of its life out in the sun and the padding on the steering wheel is stuffed.
I would like to replace the original wheel with a sports wheel.
*Before I go yanking on the steering wheel, can someone please confirm for me that this vehicle DOES NOT have any airbags fitted ??
Second question is about the pillar mounted radio antenna. It seems to be frozen in the up (fully extended), position. I wanted to put it down before putting the car in the garage but it doesn't want to seem to move. Tried some WD40 but to no avail. Can someone please confirm for me that you are supposed to be able to just pull it up and down as required ?
    Thank you in advance.
    Oldlonely.

I would not imagine a NH has airbags, it will say airbag or SRS or similar on the wheel if it does, should also have an airbag light on the dash when starting. and yes the aerial is designed to slide back in - chances are it wont, I tape mine down to the gutter when I go into my garage but I also have to remove the roof rake and let the tyres down to about 5psi but thats another story. (as you can guess it does not spend much time in the garage)

I'm pretty sure the aerial on my 1993 NH was electric so no it would not push down.

Eventually I removed the inner lining on the mudguard and replaced it with one with a universal type similar to this

          yes and uhhhh yes.....

however I would add that while many hours have gone into modifying my wagon, it is till very much a bunky - the sort where I am just begining to consider the thought that I may not be better off to dump it if something major goes wrong - and that is only due to those many hours of mods....... having said that most the mods will unbolt and go straight onto a NL which is what I will do if I ever get a defect. (getting it over the pits would be a major lesson in futility)

edit..... the only money/time that gets spent on my wagon is when something needs doing (services brakes worn components etc) and Mods to make off road more fun/better/improved abilites camping stuff....... the aerial works when its up so it stays up..... mud on the paint does not hinder anything so it never gets washed......... the shevles are in and hold stuff so "Maybe" I will cover them with carpet.......... not yet though
