    Factory tyres what pressure

    Hi All
My tyres have worn on all outside edges on all 4 tyres evenly, indicating low pressure, I'm curious as to what pressure people run , on the factory tyres on NW VRX
    I run 32 front 34 rear

I have different model (NT) with 17 inch rims, but have always run higher pressures for road driving after doing advanced driving training that suggested around 38psi all round to allow for safer reaction times.

Have read that most on the forum run at least 36psi road road driving (depending upon if towing or not).

My NX arrived with 28 pounds in each tyre and felt like a blob of jelly. Promptly got pumped up to 38 PSI all 'round and felt much much better with very little extra road noise. After the 1500km service I immediately noticed that they had dropped them to 28 again at the first Canberra roundabout .

Used to run similar in the NM and the wear was fairly even other than the shoulder of the front left.

My local tire shop said to run rear at 50psi when towing, seems to have solved the uneven wear I was getting

The dealer puts my tyre pressure at 44 psi all round. I've dropped them back down to the factory recommendations (28/32) and find it floats a bit more around corners. Might pump them up a bit as the car feels nicer to drive when they're high.

Problem is car companies recommend tyre pressures for passenger comfort....hence why they are lower to make the car feel soft on road. Many cars wear their tyres prematurely due to these recommended pressures and are also unsafe in the real world in my opinion.

Last time i got new tyres jax put 45 psi all round. I personally thought that was a bit much so i brought it back down to what i normally run which is 36psi

Love to know what you should run. I like 36PSI but tyre place recommended 40PSI to overcome more side than centre wear, which just does not feel right. Might try 38PSI.

I use the recommendation of max passenger load.

Trouble is car manufacturers are renown for under inflation to optimise ride rather than wear and or handling.

and its know that in the internet is written a lot of bullshit...

the vehicles manufacturer recommendation is a balance between ride comfort and safety. over inflation is same bad as over inflation.

but i see... manufacturer recommend under inflation on purpose because they have a deal with the Tyre monopolist /sarcasm off

Muzz, I would be looking at your wheel alignment, as all 4 are wearing on the outside edge. It appears you have too much "Camber" Outward tilt of the wheel at the top which causes the tyre to run more on the outside edge.
