SCV NS Pajero hunting under load

Have been experiencing engine hunting form the NS and after a bit of research decided it could be the SCV so I removed it pulled it apart cleaned and replaced but it had the same hunting so I removed it again and rotated 180 deg bingo no more hunting so I removed it again and replace it to the original position back came the hunting so put it back to where it worked and again BINGO alls good big question why would just the rotation fix my problem ??? I cant see any difference from one side of the valve to the other just one inlet and 2 outlets

My thoughts is the little piston that slides is not getting jammed up as the flow is going the opposite way

I pulled it apart and soaked it in a ultrasound bath for 24 hours there was no evidence of wear on the piston or cylinder There a good chance the piston went in in a different position then when it came out .

Anyway alls good just like to know why. At lease the technical talk has kept the mods away
