Hi all I have started making a rear wheel carrier for a second spare and jerry cans/water for my coil rear PA. I had a quick look at the bumper mounts and decided not to remove the bumper as i would have to cut off the monuts to install the bar and didnt want to do that incase I ever wanted reinstall the standard bumper. So I removerd the bumper reflectors and run the angle steel throught there.
I used the bolts from the tow bar which I will still be able to mount under the bar and 2 holes with into m10 threaded nuts that are already welded to the chassie.
I wanted the stub axles mounted and the angle so the corners of the bar werent a straight 90deg. These cuts was a bit fiddly with cardboard templates ect.
I made sure to put a temp brace in so the angles wounld change with the final welding. I also had the plastic covers that came with the stub axles on whel welding to stop slag sticking to the machines surface.
Plenty of excess weld so it can be ground smooth.
Same deal with welding the angle iron to the box section brace so it dosnt warp with the heat( should have used a better brace as this still pulled apart)
