I'm over in the U.S. now and will return in 3-4 weeks. Shortly after I left, the engine fried itself. I don't know the extent of the damage, but I don't trust the mechanic who just replaced the head to touch it any more. I think I'd be better off with a replacement engine. Any recommendations/thoughts on the process?

If you get one of the 4x4 trader magazines I'm sure I have seen brand new complete engines available. The body would have to be worth the cost of a new engine though.

The car is in very good shape (low mileage), but I wouldn't go for a new engine. I've lost trust in it. It's the 7th MMC (6th MMC 4X4) and the worst car I've ever had (My '89 U.S. Raider is the best). I'd just like to get it going and get rid of it.89 3.0L 5Spd SWB Raider in NW USA

Well, I'm back in QLD. The engine is a goner. Any suggestions on where to find a reliable 4D56-T in the Brisbane area? I've Googled and found a couple of suppliers in the $2750 range (Quoted $500-600 to install). Any comments? Thanks.89 3.0L 5Spd SWB Raider in NW USA
