    3.2 Paj motor into MN/PB

Has anyone tried putting the 3.2 Pajero motor and auto into the MN Triton or PB Challenger

Only Mitsubishi has as far as I know (for other countries). The workshop manual might help with identifying how its fitted into the Challenger. Saying that, the engine itself may have some external differences.

Not much talk in this topic.

Considering this post warranty rather than messing with upgrading pb xhallenger to something else as I love the challenger but for towing purposes and just better all round performance without doing ecu or chips.

I know the xhallenger comes with this setup elsewhere so it can be done...

my triton has the 3.2 engine, mind you not with the variable turbo etc.

to do it properly it will cost you a fair amount of coin, as you will require all loom ecu transfer and gearbox

not sure if you got engine mounts off a triton 3.2 that these would then fit the factory blocks in the chassis of the 2.5 engine

i.e the chassis mounts are in the same location for both the 3.2 and 2.5 with just the brackets being different- that would be nice

most everything else could be worked out and made to fit

        nice increase in power available

thinking of this if the engine in my triton carks it, should have a few year more in it yet, the engine would be the cheap part to replace if I ever crash it or crown it

The 3.2 fitted to the Challenger is an earlier version,
            120kW / 3,800rpm <for Thailand, Brazil, South Africa>
            120kW / 3,500rpm <for General Export, Argentina, Russia>
            Maximum torque 343 Nm @ 2,000 rpm.

            Later versions of the 3.2 CRD are;
1st Generation Variable geometry intercooled turbo
Fuel system — Common Rail Direct Injection
            Compression ratio — 17:1, 16.0:1
            Power — 129 kW (175 PS) at 3800 rpm
            Torque — 382 N·m (282 lb·ft) at 2000 rpm
2nd Generation Variable geometry intercooled turbo
Fuel system — Common Rail Direct Injection
            Compression ratio — 17:1, 16.0:1
Power —147 kW (200 PS) at 3800 rpm
            Torque — 450 N·m (330 lb·ft) at 2000 rpm
            Applications: 2010–present Mitsubishi Pajero

The ideal engine would be the 3.2 Gen2 VGIT with the Aisin auto trans.

            cheers, old Jack.

Saw a Challenger on a club run last year with a 3.2CR and auto conversion. Can't recall if it was the NS or NT set up. Also had the Pajero dash, huge lift and tyres plus twin locked.

              It was a beast.

This is exactly what I was thinking thanks old jack! I guess those figures aren't much more than the challenger and could be achieved with an mrt ecu tune and exhaust work!!

And probably for a tenth of the cost (or less).

Taipan was it a PB or a PA. Seems a ridiculous amount of money to throw into a modern vehicle like the PB. Makes marginally more sense in a PA if you really love your PA and need to ditch the petrol but still seems silly. I would expect the conversion cost to be on par with what it costs the big guys to do LS engine conversions. Even with a PA it would be better to pull your bits off sell it and buy an import one, saw one the other day that I presume was an import with diesel.

X2. If the Challenger had a decent auto box and had the same 130kw and 400hm torque from the factory as the manual, it would be very easily to improve with a decent chip/exhaust/tune combo.

Still, I do prefer the power of a supercharged petrol V6 or standard V8, that would still be my preferred option.
MY17 Triton GLX Plus with Mitsubishi Canopy. Keeping it light and simple. 265/70/16 Nitto's, Bilstien shocks, Kings Springs front, Formula leafs rear, ECB nudge bar, Ligjtforce 170's, twin batteries and a ARB fridge.

Hi Taipan, the challenger that fester was talking about was a PA. The owner went on one of the local runs that was had last year. The PA was nice and very capable, however had a few loose ends to sort at the time.
