Nearly here - soon to be Challenger owner

Well after five months our Challenger has arrived in country, been treated to a few modifications and we should be set for a pick up by the weekend. Woo hoo! A few more home grown mods as read on this forum (eg diff breathers, radiator protection, bash plates) and we will be out on the roads, tracks and dunes.

Been great reading everyone's comments over the months and hope we can start adding our own comments and pics soon.

    Cheers all.

Well done, you will love the Challenge especially after that wait. I love ours and only had to wait a week or so to get what I wanted. Must of been lucky I guess.

Well, we picked the new Challenger up yesterday evening, and the photos say it all. A nice shiny newly, taken into the Brindabella Ranges for a sedate (dirt road) drive; nothing too serious.

Went with the OEM front protection bar and tow bar to protect from the minor bumps and scrapes of the carpark through to the light weight obstacles. Also added some grittier tyres with the Bridgestone AT 697s, window tint, slimline window deflectors and front spotlights. Rubber flooring throughout to enable wash and wear.

Still to go: UHF radio, cargo barrier, snorkel as a starting list, and then we'll see where she takes us.

First time posting pictures so I hope they come through alright. Happy driving.

I do like that colour but we went for the silver this time. Enjoy getting out and about with your new rig.

                        Nice!

Suggest you do something with the trailer connector on the standard towbar. Presume it's the same as on mine, sticking out below and beyond the bar.

Told myself that it would be torn off first bit of rough track and sure enough bottomed the bar a couple of times going into Sundown NP (near Stanthorpe) first trip a couple of weeks back and half tore it off. Plastic lug on the connector torn. Has to be a better place for it.

I like the protection provided by the standard bar, both on and off road (rather ground the bar than the spare) however the bracket for the electrics is just so "after thought" it's not funny!

                        Cheers

2012 PB Challenger LS manual. White, tinted windows, MM towbar, Rhino Aero Sportz Bars, otherwise pretty much bog standard.

I agree, I half tore mine of on fraser within 1 hr of being on the island.
When it went in for a service afterwards the service manager said jeez they stuffed up on that bit

First trip out with mine and the plastic broke. Back to the dealer. They put it back in same place. Next trip same thing happened. I relocated mine to the top side of the bar between the car and the tow bar held in place with electric ties. No further trouble.
