    1999 nl lsd

    All,

Just thought I would post this for some information and in relation to some of the other questions that have been raised. I have a 1999 NL Pajero with the "Flared" guards.

After checking today by jacking up the rear end, I moved one wheel and the other side turned in the same direction = LSD

I have no other indication on the vehicle, no orange sticker, no "LSD Oil Only" sticker on the rear diff fill plug and no option code on the compliance plate, this vehicle also has ABS and no option code either (pic attached).

Now I have been informed through some other posts on this site that the reason there are no option codes for ABS or LSD is because these were standard items for the NL ie: not an option therefore no code etc..

    Hey Grungle,

ABS Brakes were definately optional (not standard) on petrol NL's. As far as I'm aware ABS was not available at all on diesel versions.

I think your "A48" option code will be for an optional package of dual airbags and ABS brakes.

I'm pretty sure your conclusion is correct for the diff though.

    Cheers
    Martin
Sold my faithful old NL Paj as of July 2015. Moved over to an MU-X. Fond memories of the Paj. Was just to heavy on fuel for towing the van.

Mine's got the 'LSD oil only' bit stamped into the rear diff filler plug. Only found that out when I undid it and cleaned the mud off.
