Faulty Bluetooth in Triton ML ute

    Hi

I bought my Triton ML 3.2l diesel GLX ute in April-07. The dealer installed the Mitsubishi mobile phone bluetooth in the ute. The bluetooth has reliably been dropping out in the middle of my calls several times to the point that it becomes unsafe for me to use the bluetooth whilst I am driving because I have to keep redialing. Then there are the incredibly loud echos in the bluetooth system to the point I cannot hear my mobile phone conversation properly & have to kill the call.

The MMA dealer tells me of similar bluetooth problems in the 380 series and the new Pajero but they have not heard of it in the Triton ML.

Any one else out there with Mitsubishi Bluetooth on Triton ML with similar problems?

    Thx

I have read on another forum (4wd Monthly) of people having similar problems, in these few cases the dealer replaced the Bluetooth module and all was well...

    Hope that helps!

Yep, I'm a victim of the faulty bluetooth, not connecting to my phone when it should, dropping out during calls at random, or connecting like 15 minutes after my bluetooth activated phone has been in the car..

I tell you what, if this is how tempremental the bluetooth kit is going to be, then Mitsubishi can get it out and I'll live with my bluetooth ear piece.

About 3 wks ago, I formally submitted a letter to the customer services person at the Mitsubishi dealer I bought the car from. She rang me 2 wks ago & acknowledged that MMA know of the BLUETOOTH problem on the ML TRITONs, but have NO fix for it. She did not say whether they were working on a Technical fix. This is interesting becos in my letter I stated that the Dealer Workshop service mgr said he had not heard of any such problem on the TRITON MLs.

Does anyone have any constructive idea how to escalate this to MMA so it gets Mitsubishi Japan to work on a technical resolution?

        Thx

I have no idea, but the prob with my bluetooth is not looking good for me, I have to book my Triton in for Mitsu in Darwin (300km's from where I live!!!) to tell me there is a problem with my bluetooth. Believe it or not they are having troubles coming to terms with the fact that it's the parrot bluetooth unit itself, and are claiming it's the bluetooth in the phone that I have (I claim BULLSHIT!!!).

Dunno how I'm gonna go, but I will be printing replies from this forum and the 4wdmonthly forum off and taking it to the dealer so they know that there is definitely a problem with the bluetooth that many people have had, and the current problem I have.

          Cheers, Shane.

Keep up the pressure on them guys, ring your service manager every week.
The Triton sales are blitzing at the moment and with the release of the diesel auto late this month will also add to good sales. I am sure Mitsubishi do not need any bad press on the Triton at the moment. They also read the posts on the forum so they know all about the bluetooth problem.

If Mitsubishi are unable to provide a working Bluetooth solution tell them to take the defective unit out and refund your money. If enough owners do this it should attract somebody's attention.

argh, after congratulating myself on another thread for not having Bluetooth issues, yesterday it was acting strange, and today not working at all. Tried erasing all the pairings, but once re-paired all I got was crackle.

Rang my dealer who promised me a return phone call - and the next time I got in the Triton it all worked perfectly. I wonder if these Parrot kits are properly installed, or just scotch-locked into the wiring of the headunit

Maybe try turning both bluetooth devices (phone and car) off before turning off the ignition. Just a suggestion I heard from another Triton driver.
