I personally wouldn't use one.
It's hard to judge, but it doesn't look like it would really protrude on the A pillar in a way to cause injury. But then I don't have any idea how close to the A pillar your head would get in a crash or roll over....

There isn't an air bag in the A pillar, but there is a strap that attaches to the curtain air bag as seen in the below image. I don't think that product would effect the way the strap would come out. It would probably need spacers for the mounting points...
