Is the timing sensor plate still attached to the rear of the crankshaft sprocket correctly?
Looks ok from here but recently remember see one on here where the retaining clip was off and it wasn’t correct.

I also used the black pipe insulation foam from Bunnings. I grabbed a couple of different sizes and used that for the top and sides. Cannot remember what sizes went where though.
Along the bottom the gap between the AC condensor and radiator is...

With the engine only idling with no load on the engine it can still have negative pressure (vacuum) in the intake manifold. Check that the pipe isn’t blocked also make sure there isn’t a blockage where it goes into the manifold....

Just an update on the fan clutch performance.
Just towed float with one horse up Toowoomba range so approx 2.25t trying to stay at speed limit, was testing it out so not a lot of mechanical sympathy. I could hear the fan come in above 90’c...

What year model is it?
With electrical faults you need to include all the wiring from the ECU to the sensor as part of the sensor. If a wire is rubbed in the harness it can give the same result as a failed sensor.
Is your boost sensor (MAP...

The part about run-ons and shaking on shut down.
Standard engine on shut down the ECU closes the intake butterfly and opens the EGR so it isn’t an instant shut down so a bit smoother.
Permanently closing the the EGR...

I had oil leaks at the back of the engine, it looked for all money to be the rear seal.
It was at the stage of dropping a drip every time you parked it. I cleaned it up and it was wet at the front LH corner of the sump. I moved the AC compressor...

Wires connected to alternator still, connectors not loose here?
If not you seam to have covered all the basics.
You might be up for new belts as well if you have run out of travel, but it they are tight this shouldn’t be the problem at...

I have no experience with AdBlue either.
Working on having to fill once yearly.
Will you need to run the tank till empty or will topping up keep it fresh or will the old stuff turn the new stuff stale?

Can you also give us a performance review of the light output a pattern once you have had a chance to use them.

On my NM there is a 6mm bolt hole on the back of the RH head below the cam plate, this is close to the head gasket which puts it close to the combustion chamber, there also a drain hole for the engine oil to run back to the sump close by as well. ...

Hi Stu,
How are you monitoring actual engine coolant temperatures now?
What do you do with your car, any towing, from what you have said in the past you are probably medium to heavy loaded.
Its a bit of a head scratcher...

I have also noted that the top hose and radiator gradually get hot too but I think this mainly natural heat radiation transfer.
Hot transfers to cold and not cold to hot.
There is the jiggler valve in the thermostat to bleed air out so it...

Hi OJ,
Going by the marks on the end plate of old thermostat’s and some crude measuring, the bypass is full closed when the thermostat is fully open.
This blanking plate is generally spring loaded so that it can contact the sealing...

Interesting that the thermostat is in the inlet to the water pump from the radiator.
The cooling system is a bypass type and not a blanking type like older cars, ie 250, 4.1l falcon engines.
When cold the thermostat is closed, coolant inlet...
