A few simple checks that you can make if not already done:
> Is the alternator (field /excitation) fuse ok ?
> Is the fuse(s) that supplies the charge warning light circuit ok ?

Stepping back to the original premise, are you sure the Ctek needs an ignition switched source ?
Mine simply (admittedly a 12yo unit) relies on the main feed voltage to determine whether the engine is running or not and thus whether to connect...

Well, up to a point.
An MPPT regulator will dither around the knee point of the panel's output (V vs I) and suitably load the panel to get the most power from it....
