Buying A 1999. Need Advice

Greetings, and all the very best for 2008 to you all.
I am in the market for a 98,99 pajero. I have seen a few (99EXCEED auto for $14000, with 220,000km's) and (99 escape for $13000, with 175,000km's). Both look like good cars, with no obvious concerns. My preferance is obviously the luxury exceed but the km's do concern me. How many Km's can i expect from the 3.5ltr petrol engine before i start getting problems? and is there anything i should look out for when buying. any help/advice is gratefully recieved.

Hi Steve and welcome along. We were asked pretty much the same question from a 4wd Action Monthly writer a couple of months ago. His reveiw on the NL is out in the mag next month. The thread is here NL review
As for how many klms the motors are good for without knowing the history of the motor itself. Generally the 3.5 is a good strong motor and should be good for near 300k before needing work. But I would be looking for lower klm Exceeds if you can afford it.
