      That depends on two things:
Are we talking about official updates for legal and licensed IGO version,
or the ones you find on the net?
The manual for the Hema edition of IGO can be found here.
And a manual for the normal version can be found here for example.
Last but not least the official website for all IGO updates is located here.
      Hope that helps.

thank you for putting that info up, i did try the official site with my gps and they asked me what system it was running and when i told them, they said they couldnt help. it was supose to be compatible when i bort it, but it didnt have ausy maps on it. so after putting primo on it, i cant get the offical updates.
now i have to look on the net to find them
once i find an update, say R19.1. and open it. i dont kow where to put all the things on the file
some have poi, cameras, maps and so on
so do all of these things need to be put in there own catagory, i dont know
        hope this explains a lot
        regards peter

I guess you are not talking about the program but newer maps.
A friend of mine wrote a good tut on how to install IGO from scratch.
You should find all the info you need in there : LINK

Igo / Primo itself is not very hard once you got the settings right,
it's getting interesting when you have a device with enough power and add some extras like 3D buildings or a different skin.
But there is one thing you should always remember: Before you start and at every stage with a working setup, do make a full backup of the SD.
It can get very hard and frustrating trying to find an error if you do it all at once and it does not work as expected.

yes, the back up is very important, i do that all the time
nothing worse than a gps that doesnt work
