I am having difficulty downloding my converted map image files to my Navman. Image2Ozi converts the files and saves them to the folder on the PC, but when I attempt to download to PDA, message I get is "cannot connect to PDA".
Navman is connected via USB and switched on ActiveSync is installed on my PC. AS I have not used ActiveSync before, I cannot tell if it is functioning correctly or not. In my Computer , the Navman is only visible as two removeable drives. ActiveSync is selected as connection option in the MioPocket preferences. I have tried just copying the files to the Navman Map directory, but they are not recognised. They are in the Ozf2 file format, whereas the only map that is in the Navman that is recognized is in the Ozfx3 format. Is this relevant? Any suggestions Regards, Calspec

Calspec, have you got Oziexplorer to open on your Navman?
I put my maps in the maps folder, insidie the Oziexplorer folder, which sits alongside the 'mermaid_455' folder. The file path looks like: E: oziexplorer/maps The oziexplorer folder is on the root directory of the memory card, then the maps folder is inside oziexplorer folder. There are also some settings when you run Oziexplorer that affect whether the maps will autoload.

Dark Peake,
Have opened up Ozi on the Navman (S200) and now it seems to be working. Opened map file for current area (scanned in and calibrated map from local UBD) and turned on GPS. GPS fix achieved and current location signified by an arrow on the moving map. So the method of copying files to Storage card/Oziexlporer/Maps folder seems to have worked. Still not sure about the ActiveSync bit and using the Image2Ozi program to transfer the files to the Navman. If just copying the files works, then I'm happy with that. I had done all this before but there were no map files showing in the folder apart from the example map file of the world. How do I set the Autoload function. Does this have the affect of automatically loading the correct map for my existing GPS location? Or as I drive around, if I drive off the end of a map, do I have to manually find and open the correct map for current location? Thanks for your help, slowing getting the hang of it.. ![]() Calspec

It appears that Autoload is working too. Having opened Ozi, obtained a GPS fix, Ozi then changed from the World map to the correct UBD map.
I even opened up a map from a different area, and as soon as a GPS fix was obtained, it switched back to the correct map. Looking good so far

Hi Calspec,
I appreciate the advice you originally provided to help me get on track with the s200. Once I got Oziexplorer loaded and working, a gifted friend loaded the whole of SA (5gB) in 1:50k and 1:250k maps on my unit. It kept trying to load the wrong maps so I changed a few settings and found that I needed to 'point' it to the right map. Let me know if you have any more grief and I can send you the settings I have.

Calspec - dont use active sync. You need to turn it off in Miopocket's USB mode.
OziCE should index the map files and then should auto load the highest res file at your current location. If it doesnt it either hasnt got a GPS fix or there is a wrong preference somwhere. Try a manual re-index of map files and make sure the directory path to your maps in the preferences is correct. Pat

Hi Pat, As the guru on Navman I wondered if you knew of any improvments I can make to my MY 50 T. It does not have any caravan parks in it, in poi, and has been very dissapointing to put it mildly.

Hi Brian - I wouldn't say I'm a guru. But the Navman software itself is very difficult to mod or copy. Navman have locked it down fairly solidly. So no - I don't have any suggestions.
