Check the 2 brake relays on the RHS inner gaurd in the engine bay. Mine did a similar thing and I would just tap the relays with a screwdriver and after a few reoccurances I have not had the problem for months.

just do a check by removing the brake master cylinder lid and top up the fluid if needed plus push back in the rubber boot that is attached to the lid.
i say this as a visual inspection of the fluid level from the outside may look full but if that rubber boot is down , as false reading from the outside will result. just check to be sure.

This can happen if the brake pads are worn, allowing extra fluid into the system.

next time you have a simple issue with electronics; check the bloody fuse box. buy a cheap multimeter and set it to the continuety side [ beep ] when both ends are touched to fuse top end parts a /b. this will check all fuses without removing the fuse for housing.

That's bad advice, always remove the fuse from the circuit for continuity checks. You run the risk of damaging your multimeter if using continuity in a live circuit and some of the cheaper multimeters have a low impedance in continuity mode, and can cause damage to the circuit being tested.
Also in some cars the acc+ will be shunted to gnd when the acc is turned off. Using continuity across the fuse while it's in circuit will show there is a connection , even with a blown fuse.
Moral of the story: remove the fuse to test it.
