Rear cargo barrier/cage.....

So i was recently on a road trip and took the dogs along with me. I have a cargo barrier in the car and at night i had the dogs sleep in there. This was fine but i was worried about heat so i was up at 6am every morning to let them out!!

Has anybody ever installed a rear cargo barrier/cage that will allow me to keep dogs in the boot whilst leaving back door open??

I'm planning to weld one up with some steel mesh and tubing and fit it just inside rear door....

Anyone who has done similar and can share ideas then it would be much appreciated!
