NT MMCS Nav Maps

can someone please give me the low down on..

- what is the brand/type (whereis eg.) of the nav maps

- what is the past version called?

- is there a 09 version and is or when released? part #?

- do they have speed camera and school zone POI alerts?

Yes, Sensis is the supplier. Past (which is also the current) version is 2007. A 2009 version is supposed to be out this year. Don't think it has school zone or cameras but haven't looked for these either.

I am waiting on delivery on my NT and e-mailed the dealer about this last week. He come back to me saying it is shipping with the 2009 version.

- is there a 09 version and is or when released? part #? whereis dont have "year" releases, they have version numbers, current version is v15 (not yet released for pajero)

- do they have speed camera and school zone POI alerts? Whereis does but the head unit doesnt display them.

For info - picked up my NT SWB from the dealer last week. It shipped with Whereis Navigation Data labelled 'Australia 14' - which is 2007 map info

My NT goes in for its 1500km service this week and I'll be chasing the map version up with the dealership again then.

From what I'm hearing from within Sensis the MM version hasn't gone out yet.

Got the old/current 2007 in front of me which is Australia #14 will go now and ask spare parts about the update...we all know its supposed to be coming but I dont think anyone can actually say when...PRB

My service manager mate Paul is going to ask the Mits rep when he comes out today...But who knows what he will say...Probably, Yes its coming, Dont know when...

I wouldnt be assuming that Mits are funding the update because I dont think they will...I got the impression that some of you guys think thats a possibility?

I have heard of people saying (PM) that they were able to copy Aust #14 though which is interesting...Could potentially be a cheap way out (you didnt here that from me)

Paul is going to your meeting on Wednesday I think, so if I dont get an answer today you guys can hit him up on the night if you're there...Love to go myself but my wife and 4 little kids recon i spend too much time away from home as it is...

Bit of a shame Marty as I am keen to meet you. Doesn't matter I will get Paul in a corner and put him through the griller . Wouldn't suprise me if Navman updates are the same as they both use WhereIs !

thanks guys. i would assume whereis is up to date, its just the code for it to seamlessly work with our mmcs is the slow point...?

I believe so. My understanding is there are just minor changes and branding to be done.

I must say the maps are rather innaccurate. I was looking for Bennelong Parkway the other day, a road that I knew was part of the Olympic park at Homebush so had to be in 2007 maps right. Well it is but as Bennelong Rd. On a lot of GPS that wouldn't be an issue but on this one you enter street first so you see this list of matches and it's easy to assume that if what you're looking for isn't listed then what is listed are in other suburbs. Tip for users I guess - assume it's wrong, don't assume it's right.
