    diesal certane

Hi all, i pick up my new PS GLS this week.

Iam confused about the manual saying 'certane number 51 or higher' i have serched but canot get reliable info. What does it all mean? can i use normal [standard] or do i have to use Premium.

    Thanks

Doesn't look like MMA actually answered the question in FB

No you cannot take it that the minimum cetane number in Oz is 51. You need to reread the thread specified above to find out where the group is at on this. I think the only thing you can be guaranteed of is getting diesel with a cetane index (not cetane number) of at least 46.

Although the manual says a cetane number of 51 is recommended, Mobil told me that in temperate climates a cetane number of 46 was acceptable. I asked MMA about this on facebook but they never did give an answer to my question.

Most fuel companies do not publish their cetane number. I raised this lack of publicly available information with the ACCC. But they just flicked me off. They said it wasn't their problem and I should get my own advice.

All in all a pretty approach from all concerned

            Cheers
