Which wheels and tyres to upgrade from stock set up on NJ?

I have stock NJ '94 LWB.

I want to upgrade to AT tyres, which must be definitely wider than stock ones and bigger as well.

From your experience what would be best solution for me? And what is best place in Melbourne to get the whole thing done, purchase, fitting, etc?

Gday mate I dont know how big you want to go but I put 31/10.5 15 Silverstone A/T on mine they are a BFG A/T copy pattern but the side wall is not as aggressive as the BFG a good tyre for the money I got them done at Bundoora tyres at a cost of $150 per tyre fitted.I can get their number if your interested! Note: I did take them back off as they affected my economy too much. Cheers

I put Micky Thompsons MTZ 31'x10.5"on mine, first (supprising ) thing i noticed was the stearing was lighter than the standard tyres, had less body roll and the paj just fells like it handles better (well it was like a car anyway). They dont touch offroad and ive had them 11 months and they still look new.Pics in my profile.

Not all terains i know but thats my 2 bob for my NJ tyre changing experiance.

Oh yeh, fuel consumption did go up i little bit not much though but the weekly fuel bill is in the hands of the "Fuel Gods" anyway.
And i lost a bit of puff up steep hills too.
            Cheers Ray..

Be aware that putting bigger rubber on will affect your speedo/odo and so the readings for fuel consumption must take ths into account. Putting 31's on my NG made the speedo spot on.

I think my speedo reading will be spot on if I opt for bigger tyres because now on stock tyres my speedo is showing 100km/h but I actually go 95km/h

Sorry Laz mate havent had a chance to drive by and grab the number, I will get it though. My economy was 10-10.5 L /100ks with 30/9.5 15 cross terrains on standard 6' rims (GLX) and I went to 31/10.5 15 A/t's on 7' rims and it blew out to 14-15 L /100ks I relise the speedo was reading different but THATS A LOT!!! so I went back to 30/9.5 15 but a BFG A/T on the 7' rims and its about 11-12ish /100k's so not back to were it was but a little better

I know consistantly 10-10 1/2 it was getting thats why I'm pretty pi**ed about it. Maybe its because my Paj has only just clocked up 70000 ks
