Engine Cuts out whilst on LPG

    Guys

I purchased a 2003 Challenger which has an aftermarket LPG system. The car runs flawlessly on petrol. For the most part its great on LPG however the engine sometimes cuts out. It appears to be random - sometimes whilst I am driving doing 60 to 80km/h and sometimes whilst idling. The engine doesn't 'cough' or splutter. Its like someone has turned the ignition off. The car goes dead the the check engine lights come on.

When the issues occurs it does have trouble restarting in LPG. Can't seem to get the revs up and it just goes dead again - more 'cough/sputter' like.

Have taken it to the LPG installers and they couldnt replicate the problem (sometimes it goes a week without doing it, sometimes its every 5 minutes). They did all the checks like pressure test and everything appears to be in order. Mitsubishi service centre wiped their hands of it and told me to goto and LPG place.

The problem is incredibly frustrating not to mention dangerous. For instance I have been on toll roads/tunnels when the engine cuts out - not good. My wife is preggos and i dont want her having these issues.

    Any assistance would be appreciated!

Is it injected or older style?

it could be the gas filter being blocked as a good gas place can replace it. i would get a good service done on it and not just get it checked as you say its not safe when not knowing what it is
      good luck with it

Might help with recomendations for LPG specialists if your location in your profile was a bit more specific..
        Cheers, John.

Thanks guys I am based in Sydney (north side).

The LPG system is an Airod. It uses a bit of petrol to start the engine when in LPG mode.
